Life Legacy

Charles R. Taliaferro passed into the Lord's hands on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the age of 73 following a brief illness. Charles was born in Big Spring, TX and was a resident of Central California for the past 44 years.

Beginning his career in television news, Charles later became a construction supervisor. Following a work related injury, Charles retired and, later, became the President of the Sierra Foothills Public Utility District, located in Southeast Madera County. One of Charles' most cherished projects was the Kitchen Table Gang, which provided care packages for our forces serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. For this work, Charles was written up in Parade magazine and received a personal call from retired U.S. Army General Colin Powell commending him for his excellent work in support of the U.S. troops overseas.

Charles is survived by his wife, Nancy Taliaferro; his brother, Lynn Taliaferro of Salt Lake City, UT; his sister Kathy Binon of York, PA; and his stepsons Bryan Griffin of Myock, NC and David Griffin of Fresno.
